Andy was born in Denver, Colorado and spent much of his early life traveling the world, following his father around on business. In 8th grade, after visiting family in Montana and realizing skiing is only ten minutes away, Andy and his siblings devised a plan to move to Montana.
After Andy and his siblings convinced their mother to move to Montana, Andy’s relationship with the mountains became an everyday passion. This obsession led him to Montana State University after seeing it in the “Top 5 Powder Universities” in Powder Magazine.
He logged countless days in the mountains, and also managed to come out of the experience with a degree in Education, a degree in History, and a minor in Political Science. After graduating, he moved back to Whitefish, where he worked as a counselor at a nearby therapeutic boarding school for nine years, and has been a part of the RIDGE team since its inception. At RIDGE, Andy is a free-ride ski coach, academic advisor, and likes to "keep it real."
When he is not sharing his outdoor passions with students, you will find him in the mountains, lakes, and rivers of Montana.
