Interested in changing the world through nonprofit work? An internship with Riding On Insulin (ROI) is ideal for those interested in learning more about this Whitefish based nonprofit with a international scope — working to empower, activate and connect the global type 1 diabetes (T1D) community through shared experience and action sports. Specifically, ROI hosts ski/snowboard camps for kids and families with T1D in 3 countries, backcountry expeditions for adults with T1D, and promotes endurance events for T1s and their supporters alike, such as 140-mile road bike rides on the east coast and the ultimate endurance test—Ironman. In addition to establishing a comfortable environment on the slopes, in the bike saddle or in the backcountry, Riding On Insulin strives to help families and individuals living with type 1 diabetes explore new passions, challenge T1D, and celebrate each other’s successes. Go behind the scenes and learn what it’s like to plan, promote and execute action sports events; manage a website and social media; fundraise locally; and even get out on the slopes with kids and families.
